Deborah Esther Lipstadt (born March 18, 1947) is an American historian and diplomat, best known as author of the books Denying the Holocaust (1993), History on Trial: My Day in Court with a Holocaust Denier (2005), The Eichmann Trial (2011), and Antisemitism: Here and Now (2019).
3 mag 2022 · May 3, 2022 - Present. Deborah E. Lipstadt was confirmed by the U.S. Senate on March 30, 2022 as the Special Envoy to Monitor and Combat Antisemitism, with the rank of Ambassador. As Special Envoy, she leads efforts to advance U.S. foreign policy to counter antisemitism throughout the world.

Deborah Lipstadt is currently Dorot Professor of Modern Jewish History and Holocaust Studies at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. She is probably best known for having been sued for libel by David Irving, one of the world’s leading Holocaust deniers.
