Saint Martin of Braga (in Latin Martinus Bracarensis, in Portuguese, known as Martinho de Dume c. 520–580 AD), also known as Saint Martin of Dumio, was an archbishop of Bracara Augusta in Gallaecia (now Braga in Portugal), a missionary, a monastic founder, and an ecclesiastical author.
In 1390 Braga was divided to make the Archdiocese of Lisbon, and in 1540 its territory was again divided to create the Archdiocese of Évora. The most famous of writers in this diocese is Bishop Martin who died in 580, noted for his wisdom.

At the first council of Braga in 561, Martin was third in rank among the hierarchs. In 672, he directed, as the Bishop of Braga, the proceedings of the second council of Braga. Later he became Metropolitan of Galicia. Martin was noted as an able administrator and a skilled writer.
Bishop Martin of Dumio, a great religious figure of the time, converted the Suebi to Catholicism around 550. The importance of Braga diminished during Visigoth times, and after the arrival of the Moors (716) it lost its bishop seat.
