Lipnice nad Sázavou is located about 11 kilometres (7 mi) west of Havlíčkův Brod and 26 km (16 mi) northwest of Jihlava. It lies in the Křemešník Highlands. The highest point is the hill Pyramida at 620 m (2,030 ft) above sea level.
Lipnice in the Vysočina region, 80 kilometres east of Prague, is one of the largest Czech aristocratic castles. The best part of the tour is the unique views of the surrounding romantic countryside, especially from the observation deck of the Samson tower.
The National Monument of Eavesdropping refers to three reliefs carved into rocks in the flooded quarries near Lipnice nad Sazavou.
