Cosimo II de' Medici (Firenze, 12 maggio 1590 – Firenze, 28 febbraio 1621), figlio di Ferdinando I de' Medici e di Cristina di Lorena, fu il quarto granduca di Toscana dal 1609 al 1621, anno della sua morte.

In realtà le trattative continuarono, ed il granduca, a prova del suo reale interesse al parentado, di fronte all'emergere di altre candidature, propose un cospicuo aumento della dote offerta per la sorella: pose termine alla vicenda solo la morte del principe di Galles, avvenuta nel 1612.

The Grand Duchy was ruled by the House of Medici until the extinction of its senior branch in 1737.
