One of the charming towns in this region with half-timbered houses. Personally I found the houses on the main square a bit over-the-top. But you can see other stuff, like the castle and the medieval Hexenturm. And Idstein is less touristy than the villages along the Rhine. Worth a visit.
27 ott 2021 · One of my favorite and lesser known areas in Germany is Idstein. Littered with brightly colored houses, this city has a wonderfully whimsical feel. It honestly appears to be straight out of a German fairytale book. If you are looking for an easy day trip, embark on a journey around the half timbered houses of Idstein.
