Kokurakita-ku (小倉北区) is a ward of Kitakyūshū, Fukuoka, Japan. It is the north part of what used to be Kokura City before the merger of five cities to create the new city of Kitakyūshū in 1963. JR Kyūshū's Kokura Station is the main rail hub of Kitakyūshū, and the Sanyō Shinkansen stops there.

7 giu 2018 · Kokura Castle. Smack in the middle of central Kitakyushu sits Kokura Castle. It was originally built by the Hosokawa clan in 1602 but was burnt down in 1866 by the castle lord himself to help secure safe passage of the young feudal lord ahead of an encroaching enemy army. The current building dates back to 1959.

Kokura Castle was built on a plateau in the center of Kitakyushu City , making it very convenient for transportation. It is exceptionally popular with visitors. One reason is that famed swordmaster Miyamoto Musashi stayed in Kokura.
