Yenching University (Chinese: 燕京大學; pinyin: Yānjīng Dàxué) was a private research university in Beijing, China, from 1919 to 1952. The university was formed out of the merger of four Christian colleges between the years 1915 and 1920. [1]
The Yenching Academy ( YCA, also Yanjing Academy or Yanjing College; Chinese: 燕京学堂, pinyin: Yānjīng Xuétáng) is a postgraduate college of Peking University, located in Beijing, China.
Officially constituted in 1916, Yenching offered education for the leadership of the New China that came into existence after the 1911 revolution ended the Ch'ing and replaced monarchy with a republic. In the effort to educate New China, Yenching was a great experiment whose impact remains.
