Bär became well-known as the Cologne “Tatort” police inspector Freddy Schenk, a role for which he received the German Television Award in the year 2000. In 2012, he received the Golden Camera as Best Actor for “Kehrtwende” and in 2017 he won the Bernhard Minetti Prize.
