22 mag 2024 · St Catharine’s is a very strong college for NatSci, with some of the lecturers supervising you in first year, which is a huge advantage. The supervisors here are all very supportive and committed, often willing to go the extra mile to help solve problems you had with the lectures and frequently helping students find summer work and placements.
In common with other Cambridge Colleges, St Catharine’s will be using the LNAT for applications in 2022 onwards, and you should enter for this separately - see this link https://lnat.ac.uk/ (Cambridge will no longer be using its own law test.) How to apply. You apply to Cambridge via UCAS, just as you would apply to any other UK university. However, applications at Cambridge are handled by the individual colleges, not by a department or faculty. Most applicants select a college where they would like to live and work, and that college will then deal with their application.
22 mag 2024 · Over the last decade, St Catharine’s has consistently been amongst the top three colleges in terms of Geography exam results, and has often been the top college! The College has three Geography Fellows, teaching both human and physical geography. The current Fellows in Geography are Professor Ron Martin, Dr Ian Willis and Dr Ivan Scales.
Colin Higgins has been Librarian of St Catharine’s since 2010. He holds a BA in Philosophy from Trinity College Dublin, an MSc in Librarianship from the University of Wales, and an MPhil and PhD in Ancient Philosophy from King’s College London. The history of St Catharine's College, Cambridge, from its 15th-century foundations to its newest building projects. St Catharine's College was founded in 1473 by Robert Woodlark. He had spent nearly twenty years buying up tenements in what is now Queens’ Lane until he had a site large enough to accommodate the little hall which he called ‘Saynt Kateryns Hall of Cambridge’.
St Catharine’s has made great strides in its recent history towards nurturing equality, diversity and inclusion – and has already modelled best practice in various aspects of College life – yet had not clearly articulated our aims and ambitions until 2023 when our first EDI strategy was published, which explains the College's approach to fostering equality, diversity and inclusion.
