Duke of Masovia (Polish: Książę Mazowsza) was a title borne by the sons and descendants of the Polish Duke Bolesław III Wrymouth. In accordance with the last will and testament of Bolesław, upon his death his lands were divided into four to five hereditary provinces distributed among his sons, and a royal province of Kraków reserved for the eldest, who was to be High Duke of all Poland .
When Duchess Euphemia of Czersk-Warsaw was born in 1310, in Sochaczew, Sochaczew, Masovia, Poland, her father, Trojden I Piast Duke of Czersk, was 26 and her mother, Maria Rurykowicz Princess of Galicia, was 17. She married Duke Casimir I of Cieszyn before about 19 August 1324. They were the parents of at least 5 sons and 4 daughters.

Bolesław's second marriage in 1412 to Euphemia (called also Ofka), daughter of Duke Siemowit IV of Masovia, was probably suggested by King Władysław II Jagiełło of Poland (Euphemia's maternal uncle), who saw the opportunity to make close bonds between Upper Silesia and Kraków.
