1 ott 2023 · Mare Winningham started her career as a singer-songwriter. In 1976 and 1977, she gained recognition by singing The Beatles’ song “Here, There and Everywhere” on “The Gong Show”. Although the appearance didn’t lead to any record contracts, it caught the attention of Hollywood agent Meyer Mishkin, who signed her for acting.

In 1977, she got the chance to work in the TV show James at 15 with the role of Wanda. After working on several TV shows, in 1980, she made her debut in the film as a role of Modeena Dandridge in the movie One Trick Pony.
