Fatima Whitbread. Fatima Whitbread ( Stoke Newington, 3 maart 1961) is een voormalige Britse atlete, die was gespecialiseerd in het speerwerpen. In deze discipline werd ze wereldkampioene, Europees kampioene en meervoudig Brits kampioene. Ze nam driemaal deel aan de Olympische Spelen en won hierbij twee olympische medailles (zilver en brons).

Fatima Vedad syntyi Lontoossa Kyproksen turkkilaiselle äidille ja Kyproksen kreikkalaiselle isälle. Born in London to Cypriot parents, Fatima Whitbread endured a disturbed childhood after being abandoned by her mother as a baby and spent her first 14 years in a variety of care homes. She took up the javelin at the age of 11 and was eventually adopted by Margaret Whitbread, a former javelin thrower turned national javelin coach, and her husband.
