Bernie Ecclestone wurde als Sohn eines Fischkutter-Kapitäns und einer Hausfrau [1] am 28. Oktober 1930 in Ipswich geboren. Aufgewachsen in Bexleyheath im Londoner Stadtbezirk Bexley, beendete er mit 16 Jahren die Schule und fand bei den örtlichen Stadtwerken eine Arbeitsstelle. In seinen frühen Jahren fuhr Ecclestone bis 1958 selbst Autorennen.

Bernard Charles "Bernie" Ecclestone, född 28 oktober 1930 i St Peter South Elmham i Suffolk, är en brittisk före detta racerförare. Ecclestone fortsatte sin karriär inom Formel 1, bland annat som stallägare. Senare var han en av delägarna och chef över av de kommersiella rättigheterna i Formel 1, tills de såldes till Liberty Media 2017.
