Peter Laughner wrote songs about Charles Baudelaire or Sylvia Plath, or simply about how life 'stank.' Being a brilliant guitarist, he played in many bands in his hometown Cleveland, Ohio, although he was more interested in transporting New York-state-of-mind to Cleveland.

Focusing on the 1972 to 1977 period of Laughner’s career, Peter Laughner features previously unreleased performances by Laughner’s bands Rocket From The Tombs, Fins, Cinderella Backstreet, Friction, Cinderella’s Revenge, and The Original Wolverines as well as solo and collaborative efforts.

However, on his website richardlloyd.com, Richard Lloyd asserts that Laughner "was never even close to being in Television, unless I was way out of town for a month, and I don't think so." [7] On June 10, 2003 they played their first live radio concert since the 1970s (when two shows live from the Agora club aired on WMMS ) on Brian Turner's program on WFMU .
