Mamadou DIA is a Senegalese director and director of photography based in New York, where he completed his MFA at Tisch School of the Arts in 2017. His stories are rooted in daily realities, inspired by his life in Senegal and his travels.
Mamadou Dia is a Senegalese director and director of photography based in New York where he completed his MFA at Tisch School of the Arts, (NYU) in 2017. Shaped by this training and his experience working as a video-journalist for over eight years across the African continent, his stories explore the fine balance between fiction and fact, narrative and documentary.
Mamadou was born and raised in Matam, Northern Senegal. He moved to the US for his MFA in writing and directing at NYU Tisch School of the Arts.
