Er herrschte von 1417 bis zu seinem Tod 1457 und war mit Sophia von Sachsen-Lauenburg verheiratet (seit ca. 1420). Sie bekamen 4 Kinder.

He was the son of Wartislaw IX of Pomerania-Wolgast and Sophia of Saxe-Lauenburg (d. 1462, daughter of Eric IV of Saxe-Lauenburg).
