Giorgio Moroder's stark and tender electronic score abandons the sensationalistic, show-stopping Stone specialities and channels the homoerotic territory of the movie. The "Midnight Express" OST may expose potential Hollywood queer baiting and/or censoring, but that is not all it achieved at the time of the film's theatrical release.
