Un primo piano di Nik Kershaw. Nato a Bristol, è cresciuto a Ipswich. Dopo aver lasciato la scuola nel 1976, ha lavorato come commesso e nel frattempo ha iniziato a suonare la chitarra, cantando in numerose band underground locali. Da una di queste, i Fusion, si è separato nel 1982 per dedicarsi a una carriera da cantautore solista.
20 feb 2008 · 'You've Got To Laugh' is another stroke of pop genius. Nik is a 'deep cat' in the best sense of the word. He clearly thinks about his place in the universe and the relationships, observations and emotions that affect his life - all so beautifully captured in his writing.

I must confess, this is the first Nik Kershaw album I've purchased since, ooh let me see, 'Human Racing' back in the 80's. I bought it on the strength of the 3x tasters on his official site, and very glad that I did so, because there are some great tunes on this album, very catchy stuff indeed.

Nik Kershaw, właściwie Nicholas David Kershaw (ur. 1 marca 1958 w Bristolu) – angielski piosenkarz i kompozytor muzyki pop i synth pop, popularny w latach 80. XX wieku. Kershaw zaśpiewał w koncercie Live Aid (1985 na stadionie Wembley), oraz napisał teksty piosenek dla zespołów Let Loose, The Hollies i Chesneya Hawkesa.
In 2005, Kershaw released Then and Now, a collection of earlier material with four new tracks. In 2006, he completed another solo studio album, You've Got to Laugh, available only through his website or digitally through iTunes. This album contained twelve tracks and was released on Kershaw's own label, Shorthouse Records.
