6 set 2021 · Some people think that I Bury the Living’s uninspired ending breaks the mood and suspension of disbelief that was so carefully built up. The first time I saw the film, I was inclined to agree. However, with my latest viewing, I now think that the ending is actually quite brilliant.
Unjustly ignored by many books on the horror film, I Bury the Living is a bone-chilling little mood piece, almost completed dominated by Richard Boone. Expertly avoiding the obvious throughout the film, Boone gives a thoroughly credible performance of a troubled man who labors under the misapprehension that he is God.
10 gen 2024 · So, when I Bury the Living came out, between that show’s first and second seasons, he was likely a household name to some degree. The film leans on that recognizable screen presence as well as his atypical hotness—imagine if Lee Marvin and Fred MacMurray shared a half-brother—to carry the story.

Richard Boone finds that when he sticks a pin into a map of a cemetery, the pin indicating that the owner of the plot is dead, then the person dies. He is terrified by his power, but, not surprisingly, no one else takes him seriously. That’s about it: even at 76 minutes I Bury the Living has problems maintaining its interest.
