13 nov 2018 · The newer 1937 version of "13th Chair" is the usual unremastered Warner film copy, but has a tiny digital glitch at 48 seconds in - a loud pop and color burst. This is not an analog film glitch. I got a replacement with the same glitch, despite Warner Archive customer service's denial that ANY of their dvd-rs have problems (despite the fact that duplicating problems can always happen).

Some scenes in this film were shot at Saranac Lake, NY. This was Yvonne Delva's first film. M-G-M filmed Veiller's play in 1929, with Conrad Nagel starring and Tod Browning directing (see AFI Catalog of Feature Films, 1921-30 ; F2.5630), and in 1937, with Dame May Whitty starring and George B. Seitz directing.
