In 1915 she married Maurice Bonham Carter, her father’s principal private secretary, and they had two daughters and two sons. She died in London on 19 February 1969. During her lifetime Bonham Carter only wrote one book: Winston Churchill as I Knew Him which chronicled their relationship and shared experiences, and was published in 1965.
