I think that they were trying to tie the two together but there’s no use. This film is not in same galaxy as the first. It didn’t understand what made the first so great and just took elements of the idea and made this uninspired mess. REVENGE OF THE STEPFORD WIVES is about as bad as it gets people. From start to finish, this film is lost.

A TV reporter arrives in the quiet town of Stepford to launch an investigation into why the town has the lowest divorce and crime rates in America. However, she begins to notice some bizarre behavior in the women of the town, discovering that Stepford is not as clean cut as it seems.
A 1980 television sequel was titled Revenge of the Stepford Wives. In this film, instead of being androids, the wives underwent a brainwashing procedure and then took pills that kept them hypnotized. In the end, the wives broke free of their conditioning and a mob of them killed the mastermind behind the conspiracy.
