"Closer" si fa apprezzare anche (o forse soprattutto) per un formidabile montaggio che riesce, quasi da solo, a mantenere alto l'interesse di una sceneggiatura pesante ed indovinata. La storia, in questo frangente, offre un assist alla prima (ovvero alla sceneggiatura) e qui, con "Closer" c'è lo sviluppo introspettivo di uomini e donne attanagliati negli inferi dello stesso sentimento.
