The Walker Brothers were a 1960s vocal group formed in Los Angeles, who initially found fame in the UK rather than their homeland. The Walker Brothers were an American pop group formed in Los Angeles in 1964 by John Maus (known professionally as John Walker) and Noel Scott Engel (known professionally as Scott Walker), and soon after joined by Gary Leeds (Gary Walker).
Recorded at Osaka Festival Hall. January 2nd-4th, 1968. Original Sound recording by Phonogram, UK who are exclusive licensees. Originally catalogue No: SFL 9046/7. Previously only issued in Japan. Album has two inner sleeves, which list various Japanese vinyl releases of the Walker Brothers and Scott, John and Gary Walker.
Philips went all out to promote the solo work of the Walker Brothers to the Japanese market. To aid this process there was a series of 3 EP's assigned to each of the 'brothers' containing tracks pulled from their first 1968 gig as the Walker Brothers. This coincided with the release of the full concert on DLP.
Originally catalogue No: SFL 9046/7. Previously only issued in Japan. Track D6 is not listed and is three short statements by Scott Walker, John Walker and Gary Walker as a "Hello" to the Japanese fans. This track was released on The Walker Brothers - After The Lights Go Out - The Best Of 1965-1967 under the name "Japanese Interviews".
