Stéphane Audran belongs to the generation of actresses closely associated with the French New Wave, especially for her work with Claude Chabrol, whose partner, and then wife, she was from 1959 to 1980 (and with whom she had a son, Thomas, born in 1963). Her cool beauty also graced other classics of European cinema, notably the 1987 art house hit, Babette’s Feast.
28 mar 2018 · Stéphane Audran hat, außer bei Chabrol, solche Rollen auch für Bertrand Tavernier gespielt, für Luis Buñuel, Claude Sautet, und je älter sie wurde, desto besser wurde sie darin, stark zu sein.
Stéphane Audran nella sua recitazione ha espresso con intelligenza sia un’accattivante ironia sia latenti perversioni: la sua presenza ha segnato in maniera significativa due film che hanno vinto l’Oscar per il miglior film straniero, Il fascino discreto della borghesia (1972) di Luis Bunuel, e Il pranzo di Babette (1987) di Gabriel Axel.
