5 giu 2013 · On May 15, work began on the new Northern Dancer Pavilion at the Canadian Film Centre (CFC) at 2489 Bayview Ave. The new addition will host a 4,000-square-foot, single-storey actors conservatory. “It’s a seven-month construction window,” said the film centre’s CFO Jaqueline Mackey.
A modern trailblazer in the development of Canadian film, Jewison was committed to advancing the art of storytelling and filmmaking, both through his groundbreaking films, and through his creation of the CFC in 1986, which opened its doors in Toronto in 1988. Jewison passed away on January 20, 2024 in Los Angeles at the age of 97.
