Seán Ó Riada was an Irish composer and arranger of Irish traditional music. Through his incorporation of modern and traditional techniques he became the single most influential figure in the revival of Irish traditional music during the 1960s.

Nachdem Ó Riada gestorben war, nahm Ó Sé unter anderem mit Dónal Lunny und Dermot O’Brien auf. Seán Ó Riada's the Chieftains, the Clancy Brothers, the Irish Rovers, the Dubliners and Sweeney's Men were in large part responsible for a second wave of revitalisation of Irish folk music in the 1960s, followed by Planxty, the Bothy Band and Clannad in the 70s.
Darach Ó Catháin (30 September 1922 – 29 September 1987) was an Irish sean-nós singer. Along with his fellow Connemara-native, Seosamh Ó hÉanaí, he was one of the most prominent sean-nós singers of his day and was praised by Seán Ó Riada. Ó Catháin left Ireland for work and set down in Leeds, West Yorkshire where he lived out the rest of his life.
