The Non-Collegiate Student Board purchased a building in 1885 that took the name Fitzwilliam Hall, the institution was referred to officially as Fitzwilliam House from 1924, and full Collegiate status was granted in 1966. Fitzwilliam College is a thriving community of around 430 undergraduates, 320 graduates, 60 Fellows and more than 100 staff.

As economics is one of the larger subjects in Fitzwilliam, the college’s economics students form a varied and supportive peer group, which is essential for lively and successful studies. The College offers a great deal of support for students in economics, not only from the College Fellows who teach the subject, but also from students working together, both within and between years.
Fitzwilliam College is delighted to announce the promotion of Nikki Campin as our new Head of Conferences and Events. Nikki originally joined the Fitz Events team in 2020 as Events Manager – during the pandemic, Nikki moved across into the role of Accommodation Manager, overseeing the allocation and management of student bedrooms.
