Der Uranberg plot. In 1947, the Russians operate a uranium mine in East Germany. Kurt Meinel also decides to work in this mine where his father is the foreman. He falls in love with the daughter of the Russian colonel in charge of the mining operation. This, of course, brings with it some problems that come to a head after a collapse in the mine.
