12 ott 2021 · Durante la scuola inizia ad interessarsi all’arte, al design e alla musica, in particolare al jazz. Dopo il diploma alla New York’s Franklin School for Boys, frequenta anche l’Art Students League di New York, dove segue i corsi di Reginald Marsh. Nel 1940 si iscrive all’Università dell’Ohio, che offriva un corso di laurea in Belle Arti.

The Art Students League was founded in 1875 by a group of artists – almost all of whom were students at the National Academy of Design in New York City and many of whom were women. The artists declared their intention to found a new school by pinning a notice on the bulletin board of the Academy inviting students and instructors to attend a meeting.

Our workshops meet in-person at The League's studios on 57th Street, and sometimes in locations around New York City. Taught by the same renowned instructors who teach our legendary monthly classes, The League's workshops allow students to devote a week, or even just a weekend, to a special topic or technique.
