Notre Dame Seminary is a Catholic seminary in New Orleans, Louisiana. It operates under the auspices of the Archdiocese of New Orleans. From its establishment as a free-standing seminary in 1923 by the Archdiocese of New Orleans, Notre Dame Seminary has, as its primary mission, the preparation of men for ministerial priesthood in the Roman Catholic Church.

The Department of Theology is at the heart of Notre Dame’s education in faith and reason. Guided by the ideal of “faith seeking understanding,” the faculty engage in critical reflection in six areas: moral theology, world religions and world church, history of Christianity, liturgy, biblical studies, and systematic theology.
The building was constructed in 1957, and serves as the major seminary for the Congregation of Holy Cross. Seminarians and scholastics live at Moreau as they progress through the stages of formation; during this time they also take classes at the University of Notre Dame.
