Élodie Frégé's career started in 2003 after winning the third season of the popular television competition show "Star Academy". Her eponymous debut album however failed to make the same commercial impact as the ones from the previous winners Jenifer and Nolwenn Leroy and the first single "De l'eau" only peaked at a disappointing #16 in France and #11 in Wallonia (French-speaking Belgium).
