1 dic 2019 · Josep Borrell Fontelles is the High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and the Vice-President of the Commission for a Stronger Europe in the World. He coordinates the external action of the EU, promotes its global leadership and interests, and works on defence and external financial instruments.
The High Representative chairs the Foreign Affairs ministers' meeting within the Council of the EU. The High Representative also represents the EU for matters relating to CFSP. Other duties include heading the European Defence Agency and the EU Institute for Security Studies.
12 gen 2019 · Josep Borrell, former Foreign Minister of Spain, assumed the post as High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, and Vice-President of the European Commission, headed by new President Ursula von der Leyen.
The EEAS supports the EU High Representative in conducting EU foreign and security policy and manages diplomatic relations with non-EU countries. It is led by Josep Borrell, who is also a Vice-President of the European Commission.
