Alan Cartwright. Alan George Cartwright (10 October 1945 – 4 March 2021) was an English bass player. He was born in London. Before joining Procol Harum in 1972 he played with the Freddie Mack Show together with fellow Harum band member B.J. Wilson and Roger Warwick.

9 mar 2021 · Procol Harum’s former bassist Alan Cartwright has died aged 75. He was part of the band’s line-up between 1971 and 1976, playing on four albums including their groundbreaking 1972 release Live With The Edmonton Symphony Orchestra.
Alan Cartwright was a long-time member of Procol Harum, playing bass on several albums and live shows. He passed away in 2021 and is remembered as a fine musician and person by his bandmates and fans.

Gary Brooker's tribute. It is with great sadness that I heard of the passing of Alan Cartwright, bassist with Procol Harum from 1971–1976. His first appearance was on the Live in Edmonton album and he continued until the change of personnel after Procol’s Ninth.
