Svengali (Archie Mayo, 1931, con John Barrymore) è uno dei più importanti film americani degli anni Trenta. Incredibilmente risulta inedito in Italia se non in DVD fuori catalogo e poco citato dagli studi sui film hollywoodiani. Si tratta di un caso davvero raro.
