“Jeri Gently Jumps” featured a small band led by Ralph Burns. It is a jazzier date, and the fine performers on trumpet, trombone and accordion (none of whom have ever been identified) share the solos with Southern. This album showed that Southern was indeed capable of performing lighter material without sacrificing her unique style.
