Biography. John was born on 1 April 1886 in England. He was the son of Claude George Bowes-Lyon KG KT GCVO and Cecilia Nina (Cavendish-Bentinck) Bowes-Lyon. [1] When John was 28 he married Fenella Hepburn-Stuart-Forbes-Trefusis on 29 September 1914 in England.
