2 apr 2020 · Anthony 'Tich' Critchlow and Marcus Vere temporarily retired from the music industry after the band split. Tich has also run his own company providing bespoke illumination and lighting installations. After a brief time away, Vere later produced an award-winning series of educational DVDs called Here Comes A...! for pre-school children.

The song's title came from a comment by a friend of the band's songwriter and keyboard player Marcus Vere. The friend lived in a small council flat in Sheffield prompting him to remark "I feel like I'm living in a cardboard box !", referring to the sense of feeling enclosed.
