Douglas McCombs is an American musician who plays bass and guitar with the instrumental rock band Tortoise and leads the instrumental band Brokeback. He is also the longtime bassist for the rock band Eleventh Dream Day. In 1997, he formed Pullman with Bundy K. Brown, Chris Brokaw, and Curtis Harvey, with whom he released two albums.

Bassist and guitarist from Chicago (IL, USA). In 1982 he joined Eleventh Dream Day which is still active today. Together with John Herndon, he founded Tortoise in 1988, then called Mosquito. In 1995 he worked for a period with The For Carnation and since 1997 has been a member of Pullman.
