È la più grande smorfia che sia mai stata incisa su vinile.
I tre marmittoni, nell'originale inglese The Three Stooges, sono stati un trio comico statunitense, composto dai personaggi Larry, Moe e Curly, che girarono il primo film nel 1930, Soup to Nuts e fino al 1970 recitarono in una slapstick comedy televisiva, nonché in parodie di altri generi.
The Stooges è l'album d'esordio dell'omonimo gruppo. Il disco mischia le sonorità di Chuck Berry con la psichedelia dei The Doors e MC5 unendo agli strumenti le distorsioni dei Velvet Underground ed alle parole il timbro alla Mick Jagger .
