8 lug 2020 · Original Louisville punk bands Skull of Glee, Bunny Butthole, The Blinders and later bands The Bulls, Eleventh Dream Day and Bodeco all had one member in common: Matthew “Wink” O’Bannon. Wink, his adopted moniker, stuck after choosing the punk name Wink Cadaver.

1 lug 2020 · On the last day of June 2020, we lost a great Louisville musician to cancer, Matthew "Wink" O'Bannon. Wink was a member of many bands including Blinders, Bodeco, and Eleventh Dream Day, and also worked as a solo artist. He was also known as a punk rock legend in this town.

16 set 2021 · His friend Tara Key of Antietam decided to honor Wink's memory by gathering some of his favorite songs, enlisting Louisville musicians who loved him, and paying tribute with a new album called His Majesty's Request: A Wink O'Bannon Select.

14 ott 2021 · Wink O’Bannon has been described as a key architect of the Louisville punk scene in the late ’70s, and was the primal force behind the roots rock act, Bodeco, later joining up with Chicago’s sleeping giant, Eleventh Dream Day.
Mr. O'Bannon is/was one of Louisville's original punks, was in many of the first punk bands in town, and moved on to playing country/bluegrass as a number of this town's older punks do. Wink passed away June 30th 2020 after a battle with cancer.
