Brooklyn Friends School (BFS) is an independent, college preparatory Quaker school serving a culturally diverse educational community of approximately 900 students as of 2017–18, from preschool (two years of age) through 12th grade.
Brooklyn Friends is an independent, college preparatory Quaker school where the majority of the faculty holds advanced degrees, and the Upper School offers the academically challenging and highly esteemed International Baccalaureate Diploma Program.
Brooklyn Friends School has been providing a challenging academic program to its students since 1867. Guided by the Quaker principles of equality, integrity, peaceful resolution of conflict, community, and simplicity, our educational environment values academic achievement and social growth.

Brooklyn Friends School was founded in 1867 as a co-educational grade school by the Religious Society of Friends. The institution has encouraged and facilitated learning and personal growth within the context of a challenging academic program and a caring community ever since.
