Welcome to the Church High Heritage Site. The red-brick building on Tankerville Terrace, known since 1925 as ‘Church High’, has the distinction of being the first purpose-built Girls’ School in Jesmond.

15 nov 2015 · ‘Newcastle upon Tyne Church High School (known locally as “Church High”) was an independent day school for girls in Jesmond, less than a mile north of the city of Newcastle upon Tyne, England. Until 2014 it was the oldest continuously operating girls’ school established in the city.
In September 2014, Church High School and Central Newcastle High School merged to become Newcastle High School for Girls. Founded in 1872, and 1876 respectively, both were established to offer girls an exceptional education and to ensure girls and young women could have an equal place in the world.
