Friedrich Wieck hatte auch in der Ferne viele Aufträge für sie, die sie geduldig und tüchtig erledigte. Clara hatte zu ihrer Stiefmutter ein eher distanziertes Verhältnis. Seit 1830 lebte Robert Schumann im Hause Wieck und nahm Klavierunterricht bei Friedrich Wiecks, der den jungen Mann durchaus schätzte.
