Junkyard is the third studio album by Australian post-punk group the Birthday Party. It was released on 10 July 1982 through the label 4AD in the UK and through Missing Link Records in Australia. It was the group's last full-length studio recording. It has received critical acclaim.

24 lug 2017 · The band hit another snag when bassist Pew was arrested on drunk driving charges and sentenced to two months in prison. Magazine bassist Barry Adamson ended up filling in on punk bruiser “Kiss Me Black,” and subsequently joined The Bad Seeds after The Birthday Party’s breakup a little under two years later.
18 ago 2014 · To some this period was their peak, but it also charted their personal descent. Barry Adamson, of Magazine and later the Bad Seeds, played on a couple of tracks from Junkyard. He did so because bassist Tracy Pew was in jail in Australia for repeat drink driving offences. He recalls it as being "chaotic… lots of drugs, lot of madness".

Barry Adamson (born 11 June 1958) is an English pop and rock musician, composer, writer, photographer and filmmaker. He came to prominence in the late 1970s as a member of the post-punk band Magazine and went on to work with Visage , Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds , and the electro musicians Pan Sonic .
This is the rerelease of the 1982 album with bonus tracks. Recorded summer 1981-82. Mixed everywhere. All tracks recorded at A.A.V. Melbourne, except tracks 8, 10, 12 recorded at Matrix London.
