James Madla, aka Jimmy Madla or Tasty J, has played drums with Chicago based band Veruca Salt. He joined them in 1998 after initial drummer Jim Shapiro had left. Madla formerly had played with Blind Venetians, Beer Nuts, and Caviar. Jimmy joined Veruca Salt after vocalist Louise Post lured him away from his life as a chef.

By 2005, Madla left to enter the restaurant business and Crosley was also dismissed. They were replaced in the studio by Solomon Snyder and Michael Miley, respectively. Veruca Salt began 2005 by touring Australia, undertaking both headline festival appearances and club shows. This session resulted in the Lords of Sounds and Lesser Things (LOSALT).

16 mag 2020 · That was my — and the rest of the world’s — first introduction to the newcomers — Stephen Fitzpatrick (guitars), Tasty J (Jimmy Madla, drums), and Suzanne Sokel (bass). Veruca Salt, the 2000 model, recently released it’s third album (first with the new line-up) titled Resolver.
