" — Pete Seeger. Read "Song for Daughters" A memoir comprised of five essays, three poems, and a letter to her daughter, Report from Grimes Creek was compiled by folksinger Rosalie Sorrels from her mother’s writings.
Rosalie developed a love of the outdoors while spending summers on Grimes Creek. Her mother's parents were James Madison Kelly and Arabel Beaire who married and settled on a farm in Twin Falls, Idaho, where Rosalie was a frequent visitor. [citation needed]
On her album “Report from Grimes Creek,” Rosalie retells a story her mother used to share about a day when Arabel was entertaining her gardening club. The ladies were discussing “ways to make dahlias grow as big as their granddaughters’ heads.”
