‘Imagine’ was the lead single and title track of John’s second solo album. It was written by John & Yoko and released on 11th October 1971 with B-Side ‘It’s So Hard’. ‘The song was originally inspired by Yoko’s book Grapefruit. In it are a lot of pieces saying, “imagine this, imagine that”.
Imagine was a critical and commercial success, peaking at number one on both the UK Albums Chart and US Billboard 200. Along with John Lennon/Plastic Ono Band, it is considered one of Lennon's finest solo albums.
Plastic Ono Band è stato un gruppo musicale fondato da John Lennon e Yōko Ono, poco prima dello scioglimento ufficiale dei Beatles.
