David William Thompson (born July 21, 1994) is an American actor. He is best known for starring in the films Win Win (2011), A Christmas Story 2 (2012), Blue Ruin (2013), Green Room (2015), and Fear Street Part One: 1994 (2021). In 2018, Thompson played Jonathan Crane/Scarecrow in the Fox television series Gotham.
After a few years of studying stand-up comedy, improv, basic acting, the Meisner method, and a summer studying at Circle In the Square in New York, David landed his first significant role in Win Win (2011) . David W. Thompson (born July 21, 1994) is an American actor. He portrays Jonathan Crane on Gotham, taking over the role from Charlie Tahan.
•As revealed by Thompson in an interview, he revealed that he was given very vague and ambiguous instructions to do something like what Charlie Tahan did, "but also kind of make [Scarecrow] [his] own... but really stick to what [Tahan] did" and to "feel free to play around with [Scarecrow]", for his portrayal.
Biography. David William Thompson was born to parents George and Leesa in Westchester, New York. David discovered his talents for acting in middle school when he was recommended to audition for a play. A few school productions and original local theater pieces later, David began to audition for student films in New York.
