Johann Christian Bach (Lipsia, 5 settembre 1735 – Londra, 1º gennaio 1782) è stato un compositore tedesco. Tra i maggiori compositori della sua epoca, compose prevalentemente musica in stile galante , pur inserendosi tra il novero dei principali precursori del classicismo viennese .
Johann Christian Bach (September 5, 1735 – January 1, 1782) was a German composer of the Classical era, the youngest son of Johann Sebastian Bach. He received his early musical training from his father, and later from his half-brother, Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach in Berlin.

Johann Christian Bach. Johann Christian Bach, the youngest son of Johann Sebastian Bach, was born in 1735 in Leipzig. He was taught to play keyboard instruments and music theory by his father from an early age.
Enciclopedia on line. Musicista (Lipsia 1735 - Londra 1782), detto il Bach di Milano o di Londra. Ultimo figlio di J. Sebastian, studiò con il fratello Karl Philip Emanuel e con G. B. Martini. Convertitosi al cattolicesimo, nel 1760 fu nominato organista al Duomo di Milano.
Consacrato quale operista a Milano e a Napoli, con le opere Catone in Utica (1758) e Alessandro nelle Indie (1762), e anche quale autore di musica sacra, andò a Londra quale compositore dell'Opera italiana, e vi presentò l' Orione (1763).
